Nick Buendia (Owner/Instructor)

Teacher Nick has been teaching swimming for over 15 years. He has helped thousands of swimmers gain the confidence to overcome their fears of the water, as well as improve stroke techniques required for competitive teams. He also finds great joy and has had great success in teaching swimmer's with special needs to thrive in the water. He believes in a streamlined swimming philosophy, with consistency, repetition, and patience being the key. Teacher Nick also has four young kids of his own, 7 year old identical twin boys and a 5 year old little girl, who are all water-safe little fishies. He is currently working on getting his 1 year old baby girl water safe as well!

Shannon Buendia (Owner/Office)

Shannon was a division one athlete all through high school and college in both Cross-Country and Track & Field. She ran competitively for 11 years before teaching swim lessons. She taught swim lessons for 6 years and had to take a step back once her and Nick decided to start a family of their own. Shannon no longer teaches swim lessons these days, as she is busy homeschooling their 4 young kids. She also handles all the scheduling, office duties and managing outside of the pool for Pacific Blue.

Teacher Tiffany (Instructor)

Established in 2013.

Nick and Shannon began teaching at a backyard swim school in Rocklin, Ca. It was there that they discovered their love for children and the joy that comes from teaching. They found they made a great team in and out of the water, and in early 2013 they were wed in Hawaii. After years of teaching in Rocklin, Nick and Shannon decided it was time to start a business of their own, and in June 2013 they formed Pacific Blue Swim Lessons. Without a facility to call home, they began their first summer season making house calls, and quickly found the need to secure a pool that could accommodate year-round swimming. Thousands of swimmers have come through Pacific Blue and have learned life-saving swim skills, many of which went on to join recreational and competitive swim teams. Now after teaching and coaching in CA for just over 13 years, Teacher Nick and Shannon decided to move their family and their swim program to McKinney, Texas in December of 2020!
